Georgian

The arts of the Georgian period (1714-1830) saw a significant change in style, Voluptuous, ornamental rococo design-popular into the latter part of the 18th century-gave way to the simpler, more refined forms of the classical revival style, inspired by archaeological discoveries at Pompeii.

Situated historically between our Renaissance Jewelry Collection and our Victorian Collection - the Georgian inspired jewelry shown here highlights ornate mounts with sparse gemstones representative of the period. Garnet, pearl and peridot are some of the gemstones available in Europe as worldwide trade began to flourish. Our earring styles highlight a few simple posts as well as assortment of drop and dangle earrings.
