The MuseLetter: September 2020

A new look, brand new categories and other website updates, September deals, sapphires and a few new designs

Hello Jewelry Lovers!

In the last MuseLetter I told you a new look and feel for the website were coming. As promised, it's live!

There are a million changes, I'm just going to cover the big ones real quick and let you stumble upon the rest. Feel free to kick the tires and give it a test drive. Love it? Hate it? Found an oopsie? We'd love your feedback, the easiest way to give it to us is to reply to this email.

The Home Page

First and foremost we've streamlined the home page.

I went through a few iterations here because I felt it was important to tell our story and its hard to describe The Museum of Jewelry without covering our fifty-six years of history.

P.S. Look at all that white space :).

Search

I've seen one too many people search for generic terms like "earrings", "gold", "garnet" and leave the website overwhelmed.

So I've upgraded and improved upon our search engine. It auto-completes, returns matching collections and (as before) matching blog articles and products.

Added bonus, the search results page now allows additional filters to be applied, similar to how the collections page operates.

Collections

Two big changes here.

1) A lot of navigation. One of the ways in which we were able to get the homepage cleaned up was to move content into specific collections. At the top of selected collections you will now find the ability to drill down on more specific products.

2) We used to go through popular collections and move all the good new good stuff to the front, manually, about once a month. Instead we are now sorting products all over the site by trending. Designs that you look at, click on, add to cart or purchase move to the top, and designs which don't get much love migrate to page 97.

Navigation

The last thing I want to cover is the expanded navigation menu to help you quickly fine what you are looking for.

BoneNE

My BoneNE line has been growing a bit, I wanted to spotlight a few new items and the unboxing experience that I've been working on.

Above Left: One Small Step is a ring celebrating the Moon landing and Apollo 11 is the first BoneNE piece thats not a copy of an artifact (related aside, the video on the product page for that one is *really cool*).

Above Right: Asante Frog "Mpetea" or Chief's Ring is based on a African artifact in private collection. The original is 19th century Ghanan ring from Akan / Ashanti / Asante culture. Replica is 3d printed, cast and hand-finished in the USA.

Below: I've upgraded the BoneNE unboxing experience to something a little more branded.

New Designs

Below are 15 of the 70 designs we've added in the last two weeks, as always you can see all our designs sorted by the freshest stuff here and everything featured below is on sale.

That's it for this Museletter. As always stay safe out there and we'll see ya in a few weeks.
