The MuseLetter: July 2020

Bringing Brooches Back, Sales & Special Offers, Vintage Laurel, Etsy, Peridot, Website Updates and a few New Designs

Hello Jewelry Lovers!

Last month was a productive one as we introduced over 130 new designs, rephotographed most of our brooches, and added most of the items we carry to our Etsy store. Read on for a deep dive into these projects and more.

Bringing Brooches Back

In the last few months we've photographed and added (or updated) designs across our line of earrings and necklaces, but we offer many type of jewelry. Some of these, like our collection of hand-made brooches bedazzled with hand-applied cloisonne enamel or gemstones, have been out of date for some time.

This month I'm focused on fixing that. I've updated or added about 20 of our pins and brooches, and have dozens more photos which will be added to the site. Keep an eye out for one or two new brooches each day throughout August and the coming months.

More Vintage Laurel Inc

Many of you have noticed the growing collection vintage 1970s earrings  we have online. Laurel Inc pieces were designed by Laurel Burch (or occasionally by Shashi), and Shashi Inc were designed by Shashi. These are unused items on the original earring backs manufactured 40-50 years ago. I found them stashed away in a corner of our warehouse and mostly not offered for sale for a few decades, aging like a fine wine. So I started putting them online.

Because of covid, I've been unable to travel to the warehouse for months, so we've enlisted the help of our photographer to help capture our Laurel Inc. collection and move a bit faster on making these available for sale.

Meanwhile On Etsy

We have jewelry on a few third party sites including Amazon, eBay and Etsy and I've been working the last few months to get more designs on these platforms.

This month we added about 1,000 items to our Etsy shop - which now contains almost 1500 designs including almost every piece of jewelry I have with recent photography. Follow our store to see new designs land a few times a week.

Website Updates

New Collections

We've added collections to hold white and grey marbled howlite and black and grey snowflake obsidian designs. We only have a few products in each of these stones, but have more coming online in the near future.

We've also added a single stone collection and filter to the website to give you one more way to shop by number of gemstones.

  • No stone holds items which don't have any gemstones.
  • Solitaire contains items with exactly one stone.
  • Single-stone holds items with multiple stones of a single type.
  • Harlequin contains items with multiple stones of 2 or more types.
  • And filter on individual gemstones if you're looking for something specific.

New Designs

We got over a hundred new designs online in July but I covered half of them in the last Museletter (A Mid Summer Nights Sale). Here are a 15 of the 70 designs we've added in the last two weeks, as always you can see all our designs sorted by the freshest stuff here and everything featured below is on sale.

Thats it for this Museletter. As always stay safe out there and we'll see ya in a few weeks.
