Earrings that seem to have come straight from a famous museum. Gothic romance novelist Ann Radcliffe could easily have sported this radiant faceted amethyst and cultured pearls set in a filigree cone design. 24k gold over sterling silver, with European backs. Size 7/8 inch.

I lost one of a pair of earrings that I really liked. I had bought them from a museum gift catalog many decades ago. They were costume but I liked them. This pair from the MOJ fit the bill; not identical (the stone is a paler purple than the original) but they have the same feel and will complement a necklace I used to pair with the earrings.
One quibble--the French backing on one of the new earrings is a little loose so it doesn't snap shut as well as the mate. Fingers crossed that it stays secure and operative. One plus--they included a cute little embroidered hanky with my order. Overall, a good experience
