Starry Night, arguably Vincent's most famous work, depicts the view from his asylum window in Saint-Remy-de-Provence, France. The artist had admitted himself to recover after his 1888 nervous breakdown. Aspects of the painting lead historians to speculate he was suffering from a manic episode while painting it.
The beautiful lapis stones in these earrings invoke the complexity of Vincent Van Gogh's life, and the vivid blues and contrasting yellows gold flakes within the stone mimic the contrasting palette of the painting for which they are named. 24k gold vermeil. Beautiful style and service, but confirm what you see is what you’re getting
I loved the styling of these lapis earrings, the simple setting to enhance the gemstone. However, I was a little disappointed that I didn’t seem to get the exact earrings pictured, as the flecks of pyrite were not as frequent as the photo showed, meaning the lapis quality I received wasn’t quite as good, leading me to subtract a star. I loved the photo but I would be hesitant to order from this shop again unless I confirmed that what I saw in the photo was what I was receiving. Despite that, the communication I received from the shop was timely and friendly, and it’s clear they care about their business and customers!
