Vintage Shashi Madame Butterfly Onyx Earrings

Perhaps due to the late completion leaving the singers little time to practice, the classic opera Madame Butterfly was panned by the critics when it premiered in 1904 at La Scala in Milan. I was reworked to become beloved, not unlike these art nouveau style earrings bearing its name.

The Shashi jewelry offered here is vintage unused stock from the 1970's and 1980's. The pieces were designed by the Shashi Singapuri, crafted by hand, and were part of a line featured on the cover of vogue (quite a handful of times) and numerous other fashion magazines.
