Vintage Shashi Green Papyrus Flower Earrings

Papyrus - the plant from which paper derived - was held in great regard in Ancient Egypt. Here a papyrus flower hangs off of a french hoop. Cloisonné enamel applied by hand over gold plated silver. Size 1 inch tall.

The Shashi earrings offered here are vintage stock from the 1970's and 1980's. They were designed by the Shashi Singapuri, crafted by hand, and were part of a line featured on the cover of vogue (quite a handful of times) and numerous other fashion magazines.
