Vintage Shashi Sainte-Chapelle Opal and Onyx Earrings

A cabochon Australian opal decorates an art nouveau style bow on top of an onyx stone. 24k gold over 925 sterling silver with granulated french hooks for pierced ears. 1 1/2" tall.  The gold plating is deliberately done to give it a worn and tarnished look.

The Shashi jewelry offered here is vintage unused stock from the 1970's and 1980's. The pieces were designed by the Shashi Singapuri, crafted by hand, and were part of a line featured on the cover of vogue (quite a handful of times) and numerous other fashion magazines.
